Record-Breaking Numbers Make Impact

By: Earl Roth

Although we lost several seniors who contributed significantly to the Jaguar teams, a record-breaking year is already happening:

The two dynamics that characterize Jaguar athletics this year are a record breaking unprecedented number of participants and a large number of transfers with varsity level experience.  For the first time in Jaguar history the following growth is taking place: Girl’s tennis is adding a JV team, girl’s volleyball will possibly add a frosh/soph team, and soccer looks to add JV teams in both boys and girls teams.

This is also the year that a large number of transfers will make an impact on Jaguar teams. Alexandra Kaplan from Milken and Sarah Irmas from Campbell Hall will be instrumental on the girl’s volleyball team.

In girl’s tennis, former varsity players Becca Goldman from Malibu and Briah Taubman from YULA will significantly impact the team.  Asher Goodman is expected to be a contributor to the wrestling team after wrestling varsity level at Brentwood.  Boy’s tennis is expecting transfers with varsity experience also.
