Chatter

I’m terrified

All the time

My eyes searching for

Comfort in the crowd

A warm hug might be nice

Someone to offer me the advice

What to do when my life feels full

What to say or when to have my mouth full

Full of lies

No not lies

Perhaps smiles

And kinds–

Of things to say

What to say

What to do

I see you coming my way

My life feels loud

While my head pounds

My heart is beating

My legs start shaking

My palms start to sweat

You’re walking

Left foot, right foot

One in front of the other

It’s easy to walk and

It’s easy to talk

Talk to you

Talk to me

I’ll walk

One foot in front of the other

Another

step

Take another step

Dammit.
