3 Ways to Make Tofu
Tofu: also known as meats ugly stepbrother, is widely looked down upon, and for good reason. It’s mushy texture and apparent lack of flavor gives off a lacking first impression to potential consumers. However, for those who are unable to eat meats, such as chicken, turkey, or steak, tofu is often a staple food in their diet. As someone who can eat no meat proteins, tofu dominates a large portion of my diet. However, it wasn’t always this way. Before I developed all of my intolerances, I ate, and enjoyed, chicken and turkey. Tofu was never even on my radar as a potential meat alternative. No longer being able to eat meat was rough at first, but it gave me the opportunity to find new ways to make tofu an enjoyable food. The good thing about tofu is that because it has a very bland taste in its initial state, it is easy to build up flavor. Through trial and error, I have come up with two simple ways to make tofu that satisfy both me and my meat eating friends.
