An Open Letter to the President

Dear Mr. President, 

I am writing to you because I am bothered about the fact that our country is so divided. There is such a big line between the Democrats and the Republicans to the point where they can’t work together to solve problems in our great nation.

I recently read “Let America be America Again” by Langston Hughes, and it brought up equal rights for all. Some people of color are too scared to go outside in certain parts of the country.  They are scared of getting shot or locked up by cops for no other reason than being a different color. We need to change this injustice and go back to a time where we were proud to be Americans. 

It wasn’t that long ago where people were proud to be an American. We stood as one united country instead of separate people of race, color or creed. It’s too bad it took a tragedy to do that.

 I am asking for your help to bring our great nation together to solve our problems as people not as a Democrat or a Republican.
