During the Israelis’ week away from their buddies, they got to experience the wonderful views and activities of San Francisco and Yosemite. Let’s take a look at their unforgettable week!

Day 1: Santa Barbara courthouse, free time on State Street, lunch at Santa Barbara Public Market
Harael D. (Ohel Shem ’28) mentioned that State Street is the “perfect place to wander. There are little shops, coffee spots, and street performers, so it never feels boring.”
Day 2: Arrive at Santa Barbara, Alcatraz tour, lunch at Ferry Building, Golden Gate Bridge, Painted Ladies, shabbat, dinner at Union Square

Noa K. (Ohel Shem ‘28) explained,”Inside the prison, the audio tour really impressed me. Hearing the voices of actual guards and prisoners while walking through the cold halls made it feel very real that I got scared at one point.”
Day 3: Powell and Market Streets, Fisherman’s Wharf, shopping, Lombard Street, dinner in Little Italy/Japantown

Eden Z (Ohel Shem ‘28) states, “The menu had so many options, way more pasta dishes than I even knew existed. I ordered spaghetti and meatballs, which sounds basic, but it was seriously the best I’ve ever had. The portions were huge, too, which I didn’t mind at all.”
Day 4: Visit Twin Peaks and depart San Francisco, arrive in Yosemite, Glacier Point, hike at Taft Point

Gili G. (Ohel Shem 28’) said, “It was a little windy and cold up there, but it was totally worth it. We took a ton of pictures, and it kind of felt unreal to be that high up, looking down at everything. It made me appreciate how big and beautiful the city really is.”
Day 5: Cycle through Yosemite Valley, El Capitan Meadow

Nina W. (Ohel Shem’28) said, “The ride itself was really fun, and the weather was perfect. We stopped a few times to take pictures and just chill because it was too nice not to. It didn’t even feel like we were exercising; it was more like exploring on bikes.”
5 days of fun in Yosemite and San Francisco couldn’t have felt more adventurous! Till next time!
