The Girl I’m Going to Marry
She danced and pirouetted across the floor. We were in college. She had just joined a performing Israeli dance group I was in. I was captivated. I said to myself, “This is the girl I’m going to marry.”
I asked her out. We hit it off, and shortly were dating exclusively. After a four-year courtship, during a New Year’s Eve dinner in a swanky restaurant, I said to her, “So when do you want to get married?” She said, “But you haven’t asked me yet!”
I asked. She didn’t even pause in her response.
This June we will celebrate our 48th wedding anniversary.
