Don’t Be Devious

Air Jordans are currently the most popular shoes in the world. Every time Nike releases a new shoe–which is almost once every two weeks at 7 a.m.–the fresh-looking sneakers  usually retail between $130 and $180 and eventually can go up to $1500 depending on how popular the shoe is and how many people purchase it, as well as if the shoe is “dead stock,” meaning they no longer create the shoe.

Also, the color may influence the price. For example, the Obsidians are currently extremely popular, and the prices are always going up. These shoes have three heights: lows, mids and highs. Highs and lows are the most popular; mids aren’t very popular because people don’t really reach for them right now.

I have been collecting Jordans since Covid started because I got bored and needed a hobby. I have quite a few pairs. It’s very fun being able to match my shoes with my clothes. It makes the overall outfit look very organized and clean. If I had to pick my favorite, it would be the Bred Toes. They are a really nice red and are very comfortable.

Last week, my cousin and I stayed up all night in the hope of purchasing at least one pair of the Volt Gold Jordans to sell and make a profit. We were so excited! We had six iPhones, two iPads, and two laptops all signed in to the snkrs app. The release of the shoes was at 7 a.m., but we didn’t want to miss it, so besides staying up all night, we created alarms every five minutes so we wouldn’t fall asleep . We made coffee and talked so we could be distracted from how tired we were, but finally the last timer went off fifteen minutes before the time, so we quickly washed our cups and turned on all of the electronics.

We got prepared and purchased one pair on all of our devices and waited patiently while they all said “processing” and since these shoes are a gorgeous yellow shade I was more than happy because yellow is my favorite color. While my cousin and I were sitting there nervously, eventually each device said, “Sorry you didn’t get it; maybe next time.”

After I saw my cousin’s reaction, I got very sad, but doing this was a very exciting and fun experience anyway. Towards the end of the day we were looking for a way to purchase the shoes; then, all of a sudden, my cousin got a notification on Facebook. Someone had two pairs and one in my size and right away I said “Yes, let’s buy them now!” Initially I was planning on reselling, but once they arrived at my house I just had to keep them! Overall, I will definitely do this again if I have the chance.
