Prowler Editor Wins National News Writing Award

Sarah Shane (class of 2020) was awarded the Quill and Scroll 2020 International Writing Contest for her story “Journey to the South: A Walk through History”

Sarah Shane (’20) served as a writer and editor of The Prowler for three years. As a National Winner in the News Writing category, Shane is eligible to apply for one of the Quill and Scroll Scholarships in Journalism.

Students from five countries submitted 2,439 entries over 30 categories, and “judges chose 277 winning entries produced by 319 individual students,” according to the Quill & Scroll, a National Honor Society for Scholarship in Journalism. Quill and Scroll holds an International Writing, Photo and Multimedia Contest each year.
