The New York Giants acquired Darren Waller via a trade with the Raiders.

The Giants gave up their third round pick (100th overall) that they acquired from the Kadarius Toney trade during the regular season.

Waller can be cut next year if this all blows up, and the Giants will come out of it relatively unscathed. Waller has a bit of an injury history, but he hasn’t been taking massive hits for very long, so his body shouldn’t have very much wear and tear. The Giants’ coaching staff has had plenty of experience with tight ends and should have a plan for Waller. Head coach Brian Daboll was the tight ends coach for the Patriots from 2013 -2016 and worked with Rob Gronkowski and Martellus Bennett. Mike Kafka was the Chiefs’ assistant coach for five years and worked with Travis Kelce. If Darren Waller can stay on the field and return to his 2019 and 2020 levels of performance, he will thrive in this offense.
